DeMarche Launches Refreshed Brand

For the first time in decades, DeMarche is unveiling a comprehensive update of our brand identity. We’ve refreshed our logo, colors and fonts to better reflect our company and the industry in which we operate. You’ll soon see our new look in print and online.

Our new branding better reflects the evolution of our products and the services that we provide. The new logo is simultaneously clean, classic and bold. It embodies our emphasis on client growth and market research.

A New Look for a Firm
Built on Innovation DeMarche was founded on a set of time-tested ideas that continue to serve as our cornerstones. We utilize original research and a deep knowledge of markets and managers backed by the highest ethical standards. Our team of consultants and analysts work closely with our clients to achieve their long-term investment goals.

Although our founding principles have remained unchanged. DeMarche has grown significantly since Bob Marchesi started the company in 1974. Back then, DeMarche was instrumental in creating a new industry standard by which institutional investors could assess the performance of their money managers. Not being one to rest on past success, Bob infused innovation into the DNA of our firm.

Building on our initial Performance Measurement and Evaluation services, we began offering Manager Research and Search capabilities in 1978. We followed that in 1981 by introducing Asset Allocation work as the third major capability of our investment consulting practice. Other important advances in the 1980s included the development of our benchmarking tools and the

DeMarche Indexes, both of which have enhanced communications across the complex landscape of finance and investments. DeMarche became an adopter of the principles of Behavioral Finance in the early 1990s through our work with Dr. Robert Haugen and other cutting-edge academics who were challenging the concept of market efficiency. Our work with these scholars, coupled with new investments in research, led to the development of DeMarche’s Corporate Finance and Investor Relations practice in 1994.

Another outgrowth of our research has been the DeMarche Factor Model, developed in the mid-1990s. The model identifies more than 55 factors that have significant explanatory and predictive power when combined using multivariate regression analysis. This dynamic quantitative tool has broad applications which we use to help our clients better understand markets and managers and ultimately build a better portfolio.

In 2003, we began providing discretionary investment services in response to a client request. We officially created Discretionary Management Services (DMS) four years later to offer Outsourced Chief Investment Office (OCIO) capabilities utilizing our portfolio management team and Global Tactical Asset Allocation expertise. Until now, DMS has operated under a separate brand identity.

Although our investment consulting and discretionary management services have become more sophisticated over the years, our brand identity has not kept pace. All our products and services draw upon the same staff and resources. We’ve learned that separating ourselves into DeMarche and DMS is often confusing and doesn’t always allow us to get our message across to clients. Combining our services under a single reenergized brand identity allows us to eliminate duplication of marketing efforts, improve communication, and focus on serving our clients.

As result, we’re streamlining and unifying our brand under the new DeMarche logo to help us communicate with clarity and consistency.

The Meaning of the New Logo
Our design goal has been to create a better match between our visual brand identity and the value we provide to our clients. The new logo retains elements of our classic design, in keeping with our core values, while introducing some bold and memorable elements that reflect our spirit of innovation. The primary color palette of maroon and light grey is adapted from our classic logo but has been lightened, representing our commitment to being accessible and ready to assist with all your institutional investment needs.
