Process used for determining the DeMarche
"America's 100 Most-Improved Companies:"

1
Score the 3,000 most-liquid (trading volume) companies by seven fundamental operating metrics, such as asset utilization and return on equity

2
Rank companies from best to worst based on: Current average 3-year migration minus 3-year average migration from preceding 3-year period

3
Exclude any company with an Altman solvency score below 1.81

4
  Exclude ADR's and REIT's

5
From that list, take the top 200 companies

6
Within the list of 200, take the top two companies from each of 23 S&P industry codes. Do not go outside the top 200 even if an industry did not have at least two companies. Those industries simply did not warrant equal representation.

7
To complete the list of 100, then take the highest ranked remaining companies until the list is completed. This step is further constrained in that no one industry can have more than eight companies.
